Civilizations collide in this rich tapestry of history, romance, and friendship. The beloved story of Anna and The King of Siam is set to a magnificent Rodgers and Hammerstein score, delighting audiences everywhere. Set in Siam in the 1860s, The King & I is the story of prim Victorian school teacher, Anna Leonowens, who is hired by the King of Siam to teach his numerous offspring and wives. By turns hilarious and heartrending, The King and I follows the contest of wills between the feisty Anna and the intelligent but autocratic King. The two begin as adversaries but slowly find a common bond in their love for Siam and its people. As wary respect grows into a deep and sincere regard for each other, a sudden turn of events catapults them into an ideological battle that threatens to destroy them both. Rated PG.
