The world’s greatest detective has seemingly reached the end of his remarkable career when a case presents itself that is too tempting to ignore: The King of Bohemia is about to be blackmailed by a notorious photograph, and the woman at the heart of this crime is the famous opera singer, Irene Adler. With his trusted companion Doctor Watson at his side, Sherlock Holmes first pursues the case, and then the affections of Miss Adler—and in doing so, marches right into the lair of his longtime adversary, that malevolent genius of crime: Professor Moriarty. In this spirited, fast-moving and thoroughly theatrical adaptation, Steven Dietz presents Holmes at the height of his powers—surrounded by all the elements that fans of his exploits have come to expect: danger, intrigue, wit, humor and surprise. “The game is afoot, Watson—and it is a dangerous one!” Rated PG.
SHERLOCK HOLMES (Male, 30-65) A world-renowned and brilliant English detective. A master of detection and brilliant sleuth. Straightforward but charming.
DOCTOR WATSON (Male, 30-65) Holmes’s loyal friend and trusted companion, Doctor Watson always patiently tries to help his friend and continually gets pulled into adventures – whether he wishes to or not. Droll, warm.
PROFESSOR MORIARTY (Male, 30-65) The villain, a genius of crime, and Holmes’s arch enemy, Professor Moriarty is just as brilliant intellectually and logically as Holmes, which is what makes him the perfect counterpart for Holmes.
THE KING OF BOHEMIA (Male, 30-60) Soon-to-be-married royalty of the House of Ormstein, the King of Bohemia searches out Holmes specifically to help him secure items that not only sully his reputation but, according to him, threaten the course of European history. He is ostentatious and dramatic, but sincerely admires Holmes and his work.
