Director: Laurie Pessano
This rousing family favorite takes us back to the newsboy strike of 1899, when a scruffy band of teenagers joined together to “Seize the Day” and fight oppression. Inspired by the 1992 film and based on a true story, the stage version explodes with high octane dance numbers, impressive vocals, plucky characters, and a spirited story about young newsboys facing down New York’s titans of publishing in a struggle for survival. The director is open to casting skilled girls as Newsies. Rated PG.
